Our mission: Neighbors Helping Students supports the well-being, dignity, and educational success of children and families by providing essential resources that remove barriers to daily life and learning.

Our story: Neighbors Helping Students began with a story my daughter brought home from school. A classmate had broken down in tears during gym class because her shoes were too small and hurt her feet. It was a small thing, easily fixed, and it had turned into a hard moment for a child who simply needed shoes that fit.

As a mom with children in our district, I'd been helping families when I heard of a need. But I knew there were more children like her, and that schools needed a dependable place to turn. I founded Neighbors Helping Students in 2026 to be that resource: a simple, reliable way for counselors and social workers to reach out when a family needs help, so no child has to struggle through the school day over something so easily fixed.

Because when neighbors take care of neighbors, kids can focus on growing, learning, and being kids.
